The Social Enterprise Sourcebook profiles 14 nonprofits engaged in social enterprise, or the use of earned income ventures to support mission, and catalogs their challenges and successes. The Independent Sector has created a Web-based resource center focused on the growing trend of for-profit/nonprofit partnerships. Mission & Market: The Resource Center for Effective Corporate-Nonprofit Partnerships "aims to offer the resources nonprofit and corporate executives need to help them build effective partnerships that enhance both mission and business goals."

A consortium of seven organizations representing business, government, and nonprofits has prepared Working Better Together: How Government, Business, and Nonprofit Organizations Can Achieve Public Purposes through Cross-sector Collaboration, Alliances, and Partnerships. The report draws on regional dialogs held around the country with representatives of the three sectors and details the ways the sectors have used collaboration to form partnerships with each other to address complex problems that no one sector can handle independently.
